We’re excited to share that Feel Better Music Therapy has been approved as an Allied Health Provider on the South Australian Preschool Boost Menu.
This means eligible South Australian preschools can now use Preschool Boost funding to access music therapy support that strengthens children’s emotional development while building educator capability.
Supporting children by supporting educators
Rather than delivering therapy as a stand-alone service, our Preschool Boost model is designed to work alongside your existing practice.
We partner with educators to embed practical, music-based strategies into everyday routines such as group times, transitions, emotional regulation activities, and play-based learning. Children benefit from engaging music experiences while educators gain the confidence, skills, and resources to continue using these strategies long after support visits have finished.
Our approach focuses on creating sustainable change that complements the excellent work already happening within your service.
Flexible support for every preschool
Every preschool is different, so support is tailored to your goals, children’s needs, and available Preschool Boost funding.
Support may include:
- Educator coaching and in-context modelling
- Staff professional learning
- Family information sessions
- Customised music recordings and practical resources
- Follow-up coaching and implementation support
One common model includes an initial onsite visit followed by a second visit several weeks later, allowing educators time to trial strategies before receiving additional coaching and refinement.
A research-informed approach
Feel Better Music Therapy is led by Dr Ajay Castelino, a Registered Music Therapist with more than 17 years of early childhood clinical experience across Australia and New Zealand.
Our work combines extensive clinical experience with doctoral research exploring how music can strengthen children’s emotional development while building the confidence of educators and caregivers to use music in everyday environments. This research-informed approach underpins every aspect of our Preschool Boost service.
We’d love to work with your service
If your preschool is planning how to use Preschool Boost funding, we’d love to discuss how music therapy can support your children, educators, and families.
Our support is practical, sustainable, and tailored to your service, helping embed music into everyday practice in ways that continue well beyond our visits.
